Stalking Kelly Pitts

The craziest thing happened to me last night.  Well, first let me begin by saying that I am semi-addicted to TV. I fall hard for certain TV shows and the actors instantly become my best friends. The show, The Game, is one of those shows. I’ve watched it since the first season and I am a huge, huge fan.  Now, back to the craziest thing that happened last night…..

I’m on my way back from the Blogalicious Conference in Miami. While waiting at baggage claim in the Atlanta airport I see hundreds of people bumping and pushing one another in a rush to get to their next destination. And the little voice inside my head says to me “get your camera out, you’re about to see somebody famous”. Questioning my sanity, I ignore the voice and keep people watching.  Then, the voice in my head brings back to my remembrance all the famous people I just happened to bump into over the course of my years living in Atlanta: Tyler Perry, Shaquille O’Neal, Cornel West, OutKast, etc.  So I pull my camera out and turn it on…literally seconds later, this familiar looking girl walks up in front of me at baggage claim.  My mind starts spinning because I KNOW that I know her from somewhere. For the life of me, I couldn’t remember where I’ve seen her before. So, I discretely turn on my video camera and record this to help jog my memory…..

After stalking her with my video camera, I went up to her and asked why she looks so familiar to me.  When she said “I’m an actress on The Game”  my eyes exploded into tears and I immediately told “Kelly”  how much I loved her.  If y’all don’t know Kelly Pitts you must watch The Game. She epitomized the term “white chick” but has more soul than Eddie Murphy in Dream Girls (get it, “Jimmy Got Soul”?).

Anyway, we chatted away like best friends for a few minutes and even though she probably thought I was crazy, she didn’t let on. Here’s a picture of my new best friend and I. I’m gonna start a fan club called “Team Kelly”. Be sure to watch the new episodes of The Game on BET coming soon.
